As a child, Karen wanted to be a "real" nurse, "just like my Mom!"

Exposure to nursing detail? What kind of nurse was your mom?

Once Karen graduated high-school, she went to Houston, TX and attended HCR School of Vocational Nursing. It was here that she fell in love with caring for others. She graduated with high honors and received her nursing License in 1983.

After graduating with high honors and receiving her nursing license in 1983, Karen returned to Michigan and began her life mission "the care of others". She started off as a floor nurse and over the years performed various nursing roles including Inservice, Quality Assurance and Assistant Director of Nursing.

After 20 plus years of working in various nursing homes Karen became aware that "many of the residents could be living at home if they had some daily assistance, all they realy needed was a little caring and compassion".

In June of 2005, her vision was finalized and Karing Kompassion was born.
